Islington is a diverse area with plenty of things to do and when it comes to dining out you are in for a treat. If you have just moved to Islington or are in the process of doing so and you’re looking for the best places to eat in Islington this is the blog post for you.
Established in 2010, Trullo focuses on seasonal Italian ingredients to give you some of the best fresh handmade pasta in Islington. Trullo is known for its charcoal-grilled meats and fish that accompany pasta that is often rolled a minute before serving.
If you live in Islington and want to find a good place to eat here then look no further than Trullo. One of our favourite dishes is the T-Bone and Polenta.
Don’t take our word for it though, visit Trullo at:

Sambal Shiok is a Malaysian restaurant that on the surface doesn’t look that special, the interior is very basic but the food is out of this world. It’s very popular with the residents of Islington and the rest of London and for good reason.
The laska bar serves up traditional Malaysian curries which are accompanied by Noodles, Rice bowls and other traditional Malaysian sides.
Available for both takeaway and sitting in, this is one restaurant in Islington that you need to go to. Booking is advised as this restaurant does get very busy.
You can find Sambal Shiok at:
171 Holloway Road, N7 8LX
Black Axe Mangal which has now rebranded to FKABAM, is a restaurant in Islington like no other. Honestly, we don’t know how to describe it. A mix match of Turkish food, beers and rock music combined to make an unforgettable experience.
The atmosphere here is different from anything you would have experienced in the past and it’s not somewhere you would go for a quiet night out. With that said, if you like heavy metal and Turkish kebabs this restaurant in Islington is worth a visit.
You can find FKABAM at:
156 Canonbury Rd, London N1 2UP
We do recommend booking a table as every time we have been it has been packed.
If you want something a little more relaxed than heavy metal and kebabs then Fredericks is that and more. Fredericks in Islington is a family-run restaurant that serves contemporary European food in a relaxed environment.
Frederick’s is also suitable for weddings and events as their private dining rooms can accommodate anywhere between 20 to 50 people depending on the rooms hired. If you were to rent the entire place you could hire it for 120 people or 220 people standing.
You can find Frederick’s at:
Camden Passage,
Islington,
London,
N1 8EG
The liman restaurant is another restaurant in Islington that is a must-visit for anyone in the area. Liman is a Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant that serves stunning meat dishes such as tender lamb chops, Beef Moussaka and our favourite the Lamb Shank.
