Storing children’s toys can be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping their bedrooms organised and clutter-free. With so many different types of toys, it can be difficult to know where to start. However, with a little bit of planning and organization, you can create a storage solution that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

In this article, we will look at the best ways to store children’s toys and keep your home tidy and clutter-free.

Label your toy boxes

Labelled bins and baskets are a great way to organise toys and keep them out of sight. Label each bin or basket with the type of toy that should be stored in it, such as “Legos,” “Action Figures,” or “Dolls.” This makes it easy for your children to find what they’re looking for and put things away when they’re finished playing.

Giving your children responsibility and helping them to tidy their room is a great way of keeping the clutter down. It also helps your children learn that their room is their responsibility too and as they grow they will learn to respect keeping the house clean.

Have a designated play area

Creating a designated play area will not only help keep the rest of your home tidy, but it will also encourage your children to clean up after themselves. Use rugs, mats, or even furniture to create a designated play area that is separate from the rest of the room.

Having one area that’s messy can help keep the rest of the home clean. You are far less likely to be anxious when it comes to your home if you have a designated area that you expect to be messy.

Add storage space

Floating shelves are a great way to store toys and other items in a neat and organized manner. These shelves can be mounted on the wall and can be used to store everything from books and games to action figures and dolls.

But any shelving or additional storage is going to benefit the room. The space under your children’s bed can be a great place to store toys for example, especially if you’re short on storage space. Invest in under-bed storage containers that can be easily pulled out when it’s time to play and pushed back under the bed when it’s time to clean up.

A toy chest is a great way to store larger toys, such as stuffed animals, dolls, and action figures. Choose a toy chest that is sturdy and made from materials that are safe for your children.

Storage ottomans are a great way to store toys while also providing extra seating. These ottomans come in a variety of sizes and styles, so you’re sure to find one that fits your needs and fits in with the décor of your home.

If you take time to add more storage into your children’s room then you will be surprised how less cluttered their room will get.

Additional children’s toy storage tips.

A toy rotation system is a great way to keep your children’s toys fresh and exciting. Simply put away a portion of their toys and bring out a new set every few months. This will help keep your home organized and prevent your children from becoming bored with the same toys.

This can also save you money as toys can be expensive and constantly buying new ones not only adds to your clutter but affects your bank balance too.

Hiring more storage in a storage unit

While these tips above can add more storage to your child’s room, for some of us our homes are small that we didn’t have much room to start with. If you feel like this and don’t want to move home it could be time to hire a storage unit.

Self-storage is affordable and if you hire storage from a reputable company you can get storage units in different sizes so you never pay for more than you need.
