BarreCore on Upper Street is an exercise studio that will leave you out of breath and dying to try it again. If you have just moved to Islington and want to try out a fun activity that’s both challenging and rewarding then I highly recommend trying it out.
BarreCore in Islington was founded by celebrity trainer Nicky Rein and is a ballet-inspired workout that is used by Victoria’s Secret models, but you don’t have to be a model to attend this exercise class, I tried it, I loved it and it was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but equally I couldn’t wait to go back.
Many celebrities swear by this fitness routine and say that it’s what has sculpted their bodies and in my opinion, I can see why, it’s hard work, ruthless, unforgiving and by the end of it, you won’t have any energy left. BarreCore in Islington will get those calories burning like nothing else.
When entering you are greeted by a friendly reception team and are led to the studio where you will undertake around 55 minutes of cardio and interval training.
I am a complete beginner so felt a little uneasy but wanted to try Barrecore in Islington because of its great reviews. While I am a beginner and truly don’t have a clue what I was doing I found the team super helpful and Cat the trainer was lovely.
The first 10 minutes were easy and I thought ok, this isn’t as hard as everyone makes it out to be, that is until we do the “bare core shake” which I can only describe as squats that murder your entire body.
This is nothing like you would expect from a ballerina class and by the end of the session my whole body was aching, the next day was even worse and 2 days after the workout my muscles were aching worse than ever before. However, it was a nice pain that I would recommend doing.
If you are in the Islington area, have just moved here, want to shed some pounds from going to the beer garden too much or simply want to try something new and fun, try out Barrecore.
